StadiumTM’s Year in Review 2017

Posted on 22nd December 2017 by Stadium Grp.

Since its foundation year in 2009, 2017 was the biggest year for StadiumTM. We grew in various ways and will grow further in 2018. 2017 we rose to new challenges, welcomed new clients, services, departments and staff members.

In the 2016/17 season we successfully fulfilled the challenge of the new Liverpool main stand development, which allowed another 8000 spectators to attend each game! We took complete control of the stadium footprint and began to supply inside the stadium 100 stewards. A total of 175 operatives in place. This requiring a huge recruitment of new employees based in the Liverpool area, recruiting just fewer than 150 staff in three months!

In the spring we saw professional development training for our head office staff including Document Awareness and Project Argus. Both training sessions led by the National Counter Terrorism Security Office NaCTSO. This training allowing us to scale and incorporate into ground operatives training.

In August we secured a stewarding contract with Wolverhampton Wanderers. Since then we have also implemented a Traffic Management plan, taking place on Waterloo Road outside of the Molineux Stadium. The plan being successful and shall continue to be in place.

Other football clubs we secured contracts with for the 2017/18 season include: Stoke City, Aston Villa and Burton.

Our Facilities Management portfolio grew with two contracts: Cherwell District Council and a four year contract with Aston Villas’ Bodymoor Heath Training Ground. Encompassed within the two contracts we provide: cleaning, manned guarding, receptionists and lift maintenance.

During the autumn we delivered Traffic Management to Hull, the City of Culture! The event itself attracting up to 5000 spectators, it was the first performance of the Royal Ballet in Hull to take place in 30 years! Looking forward to 2021 when Coventry takes the torch as City of Culture!

In the final months of 2017 large changes took place including a new department, new staff and a new service. We grew within our Staffing, Recruitment and made the addition of a Marketing department.

The hire & installation of the ATG Access, Surface Guard hostile vehicle mitigation (HVM) system is our new service and is bound to change how crowded spaces are protected. We held a number of live demonstrations in partnership with ATG Access in Glasgow and at Anfield Stadium. Our first official hire and installation service took place at Burnley Football Club on November 18th. Burnley was the first Premier League Club to use this unique system. Coverage of the installation was made by a number of national newspaper outlets and received very good feedback from the fans of Burnley.

From here we have worked with ATG successfully and installed at numerous locations, one that placed us on a global stage. In partnership with ATG and Rosehill Security we secured the perimeter of the UK Security Expo at Olympia in London.

Lastly, in December we became Corporate members of the Coventry & Warwickshire Chamber of Commerce. We look forward to working and meeting with businesses in the area and the Midlands!

Many more exciting things are to come our way in 2018 and we look forward to sharing this with you!
