StadiumTM went overseas this week to attend the 1st Major Event Safety and Security Conference in Doha, Qatar (November 7th-8th). This conference was organised by international criminal police organisation Interpol and the Security Committee within the Supreme Committee for the Delivery and Legacy Qatar 2022. StadiumTM were honoured to be invited to such an event and place ourselves on a Global Security platform.
The conference saw members of the 190 Interpol member states, other international organisations and global event safety and security experts. Guest speakers and members of the Supreme Committee covered topics in relation to:
- Current threats and the implications to major events.
- Geopolitics and their impacts.
- Risk models in relation to policing major sporting events.
- Responding to the evolving threat environment.
- Critical event infrastructure resilience.
From StadiumTM our Managing Director David McAtamney and HR Director Lorraine Baillie attended. The aim of the conference was to address safety and security measures of major sporting events. This is of course something we at StadiumTM take very seriously and are always looking for innovative ways to making the events we work with safer. Through meeting other delegates it was a chance to exchange, learn, discuss challenges and the progression made in the world of safety and security within sporting events today.
