May Bank Holiday weekend marked StadiumTM’s largest deployment of HVM barriers to date at two huge UK events! Between the two events, The Tour de Yorkshire and the Wolverhampton Wanderers Promotion Parade just over 150m of barrier were deployed.
Over the course of the four stages the Tour de Yorkshire saw 2.6 million people gather in the various locations across the county to watch some of the world’s best cyclist’s. It is thought the crowd number is one of the largest for any single UK sporting event. The Saturday saw the Stage Three come to a close in the seaside town of Scarborough, the location of the barrier deployment. Working with ATG Access we installed just under 30m of the ATG Access Surface Guard barrier.
We also accomplished the largest UK deployment of temporary HVM barriers to date at the Wolverhampton Wanderers promotion parade. Over 130m of the StadiumTM barrier solutions was installed across six locations in the city centre surrounding Queens Square, one of the busiest locations along the parade route. The parade itself saw an estimated 80 000 people gather on the Bank Holiday Monday. It truly felt like the entire Wolverhampton community had joined in on the event!
The importance of the surface mounted barriers for temporary event security is becoming more and more pronounced. During both events the temporary and pedestrian permeable qualities of such barrier systems was showcased. Allowing accessibility for everyone to take part in their community and sport events is a driving force behind the work we, StadiumTM carry out. The creation of secure spaces is to bring people together and share wonderful experiences.
