StadiumTM Training continues to grow further within the international sector by delivering to senior Qatar Police Officials. The company delivers and provides a unique and bespoke training course that specifically looks at the Safety of Stadiums. Ahead of the Qatar 2022 World Cup, the Supreme Committee of Planning and Legacy has looked to the company to provide support and training.
The UK is world renowned for some of the most famous clubs and the most iconic stadiums. The passion of the fans being incredible, with such diversity within the British football culture it provides the perfect backdrop to StadiumTM’s bespoke Training.
This month StadiumTM welcomes two cohorts of Qatari Officials. With each course taking four days, each of the groups receive guest speakers, team exercises and live stadium events. Leading the training course is the company HR Director and holder of a NVQ Level 4 diploma in Spectator Safety, Lorraine Baillie. Training and Recruitment Manager, Jemma, supporting throughout delivery.
The first cohort last week received a presentation from guest speaker Professor Clifford Stott surrounding ‘Understanding Crowds’ and two site visits. The first site visit took place at Stoke City; here the group received a fantastic tour from the Safety team at Stoke and the opportunity to ask lots of questions! The second site saw the group visit Burnley, gaining insider knowledge on the inner workings of match day safety from the clubs’ Safety Officer. The course concluding with a visit to Anfield to watch Liverpool take on Bournemouth!
By being based in Coventry the company has been able to logistically plan the course allowing the live events element to take place with ease.
Lorraine Baillie states, “The theory component of the training is key; but the practical element of the training and seeing different scenarios first hand is vital. Being able to have our clients experience the atmosphere of a game is both thrilling and eye opening for them.”
